Terms of Service
Lingua Franca is a language companion for Even G2 smart glasses, made by D3 Hospitality. POLYGOT is its parrot. Using the app, or signing in on this website, means agreeing to what follows. It is short on purpose.
The short version
- The app is in beta and distributed through Even Hub. Things will change, and sometimes break.
- The free tier stays free. Authored phrases, mini-games, your library and progress, and preloaded phrase audio do not require payment.
- Premium is on sale now. Every subscription starts with three free days; your card is charged on day four unless you cancel first.
- AI output can be wrong. Translations and suggestions are generated by machines. Check anything that matters with a person.
- Your phrases are yours. We only use them to run the service for you.
Using Lingua Franca
The app runs inside the Even Realities app and on compatible Even G2 glasses, installed through Even Hub. This website, polygot.live, is a showcase and a place to sign in to your account; it does not run lessons, translation, or glasses controls, and nothing here starts a purchase. You need to be at least 13 to use Lingua Franca, and old enough to enter into these terms where you live.
You agree not to:
- use the service to harass, deceive, or harm anyone, or to generate content that is unlawful where you are;
- probe, overload, scrape, or interfere with the service or its providers, or route around usage limits;
- resell access, share one account between people, or automate requests against the AI features;
- use it for anything unlawful.
Your account
Accounts are created with Google sign-in. Keep your Google account secure; what happens under your account is yours. One account per person. You can sign out at any time, and you can have your account and its data deleted by emailing ops@d3hospitality.com from the address you signed in with. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts other people or the service at risk.
Free and Premium
The free tier includes authored phrases, mini-games, your library and progress on your device, and preloaded phrase audio. Where a recorded clip is not available yet, the app may use a device voice and will say so.
Premium is on sale at polygot.live/premium. Premium costs USD 8.99 per month or USD 89.99 per year. Every subscription starts with three free days: you choose a plan and enter a payment method at checkout, nothing is charged for three days, and on the fourth day the plan you chose is charged automatically unless you cancel first. There is no trial without completing checkout, and one trial per customer. Premium covers AI translation, custom AI phrases and audio, conversation help, and pronunciation coaching. You will be able to see your status, change payment details, and cancel through Stripe's hosted billing portal; cancelling stops future charges at the end of the period you paid for. Losing Premium, for any reason, never removes free features.
Your content
Phrases you write, conversations you build, and your progress belong to you. You give us the permission we need to store, process, and display them in order to run the service for you, including sending your words to the AI providers named in the Privacy Policy to produce the result you asked for. Authored phrases, audio, artwork, the POLYGOT character, and the software remain ours or our licensors', for your personal, non-commercial use within the app.
AI output, and what Lingua Franca is not
Translations, phrase suggestions, "Ask POLYGOT" answers, conversation help, and pronunciation scores are generated by AI. They can be inaccurate, awkward, culturally off, or simply wrong. Do not rely on them for medical, legal, financial, safety, immigration, or emergency situations, and verify anything important with a qualified person. Lingua Franca is a learning aid, not a certified interpreter.
Smart glasses put text in your line of sight. Stay aware of your surroundings, follow local law, and never use the app while driving, cycling, or operating anything that needs your full attention.
Availability
This is a beta. Features may change, pause, or be removed; AI features depend on third-party providers and on usage limits, and may be unavailable at times. We do our best to keep account data safe, and you should keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.
Liability
The service is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, D3 Hospitality is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, for lost data, or for anything that follows from relying on AI output. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here removes rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived.
Third parties
Even Realities (Even Hub and the glasses), Google (sign-in), Supabase (accounts and data), Vercel (hosting), OpenAI, Deepgram, and TypeSafe AI (AI processing), and Stripe (payments, when Premium launches) each have their own terms, which apply to their part of the service.
Changes
We may update these terms. When a change matters, the effective date above changes and the app or this site will point it out. Continuing to use Lingua Franca after that means the new terms apply.
